UI/UX and Figma Design for Websites and Apps

I’m Bimsara, a UI/UX designer based in Sri Lanka. I provide Figma website and app design for businesses, startups and remote clients who need a clear interface direction before development.

Make the interface easier to understand

UI design shapes what people see and interact with. UX design considers the steps they take to complete a task. Together, they help define how a website or app should work before the screens are built.

A useful brief starts with the people using the interface, their main tasks and the places where the current experience becomes confusing. This keeps the design focused on a real problem rather than decoration alone.

From user flow to Figma prototype

UI/UX work is useful when visitors struggle to find information, complete a task or understand an interface. For websites and mobile apps, I provide wireframes, interface design and Figma prototypes around the agreed screens and user journeys.

  • User flows and information architecture: the steps and organization behind the screens.
  • Wireframes to explore layout before visual detail.
  • Website and mobile app UI design, including agreed responsive layouts.
  • Prototypes to communicate navigation and interactions.

UX research can help test assumptions about users; usability testing checks how people use a design. If either is needed, discuss the method, participants and deliverables before including it. Design-system work also needs an agreed scope.

Process, tools and deliverables

  1. Understand: discuss the audience, main tasks, existing evidence and interface problems.
  2. Structure: define flows and wireframes for the agreed screens.
  3. Design: develop the visual interface and prototype in Figma.
  4. Review: use feedback to refine the agreed design and clarify handoff requirements.

Tools: Figma for website/app design and prototyping. Deliverables can include the agreed wireframes, screen designs and prototype; specify device sizes, component expectations and interface states in the brief.

UI/UX and Figma design questions

What does a UI/UX designer do?

A UI/UX designer plans how an interface looks and how people move through it to complete tasks. Work can include user flows, wireframes, screen designs and prototypes.

The scope should specify whether research and usability testing are included.

What is the difference between UI and UX?

UI means user interface: the controls, layouts and visual elements people interact with. UX means user experience: the broader experience of using a product or service, including whether it helps people achieve their goals.

What is Figma used for?

Figma is used to design interfaces, organize reusable components and create interactive prototypes. A prototype communicates how a design could work; it is not a finished website or app.

Explore Figma’s guide to prototyping.

How much does UI/UX design cost?

Cost depends on the number and complexity of screens, user journeys, responsive versions and research requirements.

Share existing wireframes and specify whether you need a prototype or development handoff.

What is a design system?

A design system combines reusable components with rules for using them consistently. It can help teams keep interfaces coherent as a product grows.

A full system is a different scope from designing a few screens. See Figma’s design-system introduction.

Does UI/UX design include development?

Design and development are separate scopes. Figma designs can guide a developer, but they do not automatically become a working application.
